석탄(Coal)은 주로 석탄 광석 블록을 수확하여 얻을 수 있는 아이템이다. 주로 화로의 연료와 횃불 제작에 사용된다.
숯(Charcoal)은 원목과 통나무를 제련하여 얻을 수 있는, 석탄 대신 사용할 수 있는 아이템이다. 일반 석탄과 동일하게 사용할 수 있지만, 주민들과 거래할 수 없고, 석탄 블록으로 제작할 수 없다. 석탄과 숯은 함께 쌓을 수 없다.
획득 방법[]
석탄과 숯의 가장 큰 차이는 획득 방법이다.
채굴[]
석탄 광석을 곡괭이로 채굴하면 1개의 석탄이 드롭된다. 행운 마법을 부여한 곡괭이를 사용하면, 행운 마법의 레벨당 최대 드롭량이 1씩 증가한다. (행운 III에서 최대 4개)

석탄 또는 숯을 화로의 연료로 사용하면 80초 동안 지속된다. (8 개의 아이템을 제련할 수 있다.) 석탄/숯은 나무 판자나 원목을 연료로 사용하는 것에 비해 5배 이상 오래 사용할 수 있다.
석탄과 숯은 또한 화로가 실린 광산 수레에 사용할 수 있는 유일한 연료이다. 하나당 약 4분간 운행할 수 있다.
